Stage 1 from about week 2 — once your OB clears you. The cut depends on your delivery.
Post-partum compression supports the abdominal wall while it recovers and helps everything settle back into place. Start at Stage 1 around week 2 — once your OB clears you. Your OB’s timing always comes first; nothing about a garment overrides it.
C-section and natural birth need different cuts — a c-section incision needs clearance where a natural-birth recovery doesn’t. That’s a 20-minute fitting question, answered in person at Salud, free.

Weeks 0–2 · Rest first
No faja yet. Your body — and your OB — set the pace here. Use whatever soft support your provider recommends.
Week 2+ · Stage 1
Once cleared: structured support for the abdominal wall, cut for your delivery — c-section incisions get clearance, natural recovery gets full coverage.
Week 6+ · Stage 2
Lighter daily shaping as you get back to your life — most women wear it through the months their body keeps changing.
General timelines from 20 years of fitting — your surgeon’s post-operative protocol always comes first.

When can I start wearing a faja after giving birth?
Around week 2 for most women — but only once your OB clears you, and c-sections sometimes wait longer. Bring your OB’s guidance to the fitting and Salud works within it.
Is a c-section faja different from a natural-birth faja?
The cut is. A c-section incision needs the garment edge and seams to clear it completely; natural-birth recovery can take fuller coverage sooner. Same staging — Stage 1 then Stage 2 — different garment geometry.
Is a post-partum faja the same as a post-surgery faja?
Same medical-grade Colombian compression and the same staging logic, chosen for a different job: supporting an abdominal wall stretched by pregnancy rather than incisions from surgery. The fitting decides cut, length and stage for your case.
How long do I wear it post-partum?
Most women wear Stage 1 for 4–6 weeks once cleared, then Stage 2 as long as it keeps helping — often through the first few months. Comfort is the guide; it should support, never pinch.
Can’t I just use a faja size chart and order online?
A chart sizes a body that holds still — yours won’t. After surgery your measurements change week to week as the swelling drops, and Stage 1 and Stage 2 are different sizes. A size chart can’t see your swelling or your surgeon’s plan; a Colombian fitter can — free, in about 20 minutes. Only order online if you truly can’t come in: Formera ships in 2–3 days.
