Stage 1 with an open-back panel, weeks 0–3. Stage 2 from week 3–4.
After a Brazilian Butt Lift you need Stage 1 compression with an open-back panel. It compresses the donor sites — abdomen, flanks, thighs — while keeping pressure off the fat grafts your surgeon just placed. A regular faja presses exactly where it shouldn’t.
Around week 3–4, when swelling drops and Stage 1 starts to feel loose, you move to Stage 2 — firmer shaping cut to your new contour, the stage you wear longest.

Weeks 0–3 · Stage 1
Open-back panel. Maximum compression on the donor zones, zero pressure on the grafts. Most surgeons want it on about 23 hours a day.
Week 3–4 · The switch
Stage 1 feels loose as swelling drops — that looseness is the signal. A Colombian fitter confirms it in person at Salud, free.
Weeks 3–8 · Stage 2
Medium compression shaped to your new contour. Firm enough to shape, light enough to live in.

When do I switch from Stage 1 to Stage 2 after a BBL?
Around week 3–4 for most women — when swelling has dropped and Stage 1 starts to feel loose even on the tightest row of hooks. Your surgeon’s clearance comes first. If you’re not sure, a fitter at Salud checks you in person, free.
Why does a BBL faja need an open-back panel?
The grafts need blood supply to survive, and sustained pressure compromises them. The open-back panel compresses the liposuctioned donor zones while leaving the grafted area free — that’s the whole reason the cut exists.
Do I sleep in my faja after a BBL?
In the first weeks, yes — most surgeons want Stage 1 on about 23 hours a day, off only to shower. Sitting and lying positions are your surgeon’s rules and don’t change what the garment does. As you move to Stage 2, wear time eases toward daytime.
Will my size change as the swelling goes down?
Yes — that’s the entire reason compression comes in stages. Your week-1 body and your week-5 body are different sizes. Salud re-measures you at the switch, free, so each stage actually fits the body you have that week.
Can’t I just use a faja size chart and order online?
A chart sizes a body that holds still — yours won’t. After surgery your measurements change week to week as the swelling drops, and Stage 1 and Stage 2 are different sizes. A size chart can’t see your swelling or your surgeon’s plan; a Colombian fitter can — free, in about 20 minutes. Only order online if you truly can’t come in: Formera ships in 2–3 days.
